Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol Tennessee is that state's largest sports arena and hosts several NASCAR Nextel Cup and Busch Series events each year along with many Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock events. We were part of the team that created the Bristol Fan Experience, a permanent exhibit at the Speedway that consists of four photo walls each displaying a different theme: NASCAR, Bristol Dragway, Oldies, and the Bristol Experience.
Each wall features as its centerpiece a touch-screen monitor that displays an interactive program designed especially for that theme. Each program contains photo galleries of various aspects of the Bristol Experience from throughout its more than four decades of existence. Using the main menu, viewers can delve into any section of interest and use the next and back functionality to step through each photo, one by one. The program also starts with an attractor loop that runs continuously until a viewer steps up and touches the screen to activate the main menu. If a viewer steps away from the display, the program automatically reverts to the attractor loop after a short period of inactivity.
